Sonya at Ty Pawb Music Sessions

 Singer -songwriter Sonya Smith is well known across Shropshire and Mid Wales, where she plays at numerous venues and festivals; including performing for four successive years at the International Music Eisteddfod, Landed Festival and the Ludlow Fringe.  

Sonya is known for her emotive, thought provoking lyrics, and her song writing is influenced by the lyrically rich, storytelling tradition of writers like Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Leonard Cohen, with her music style drawing on the influences of roots type ballads, to blues and country-rock traditions.  

She performs her songs with vocals that are distinctive, lyrical, & wide ranging; a voice that has variously been described as 'Mesmerising', as ‘ Throaty Soulful Blues ’, to the unadulterated ‘ Voice of an Angel’. Sonya will be playing a selection of her own songs accompanying herself on acoustic guitar.
